A Day On The Square

In 2009, the Ohio Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (OACTE) embarked on a first annual event in Columbus called “Day on the Square” (DOS).  DOS provides an opportunity for OACTE members to descend on Capitol Square to spread the good work of Ohio’s educator preparation institutions to our state legislators.  Attendees’ presence at this event signals to legislatures that educator preparation is a committed constituency.  Our collected efforts provide us the opportunity to demonstrate the improvements and successes made by our institutions in preparing high-quality educators.

DOS provides the attendees to influence state education legislation to support our vision for a comprehensive, high quality education profession.  It also allows the Association to be more effective in influencing state education legislation and securing state funds for education programs.
